Speaking of the challenge, MTF Finance CEO, Chris Lamers, said: “At its heart, MTF Finance is a community-based financial services provider, and we’ve been an integral part of New Zealand for 53 years. Since we launched back in 1970, we’ve steadily grown our business to become one of the most trusted financial providers in New Zealand, serving more customers than ever before. But what hasn’t changed is one essential ingredient: we're still owned by the local businesses that offer our finance,” says Lamers.

“To continue our ongoing support for the communities we serve, we’ve decided to build on our community support programme by launching the MTF Finance National Community Volunteering Challenge. We’re encouraging all our teams and franchisees across the country to help us hit our target of 2,024 hours of community support over the next 12 months. It’s been great to see so many of our colleagues donate their time to a host of charitable organisations in the Dunedin area on launch day.”

Building on MTF Finance’s unique heritage

Yesterday’s events saw the organisation’s 90 national office team members donate more than 300 total hours of the 2,024-hour target to seven community and charitable groups in the Dunedin region, including Otago Hospice, Age Concern, Otokia Environmental Conservation, Orokonui Wildlife Sanctuary, Summerset Retirement Home, and the Wildlife Hospital.

The MTF Finance National Community Volunteering Challenge comes off the back of the financial services provider’s hugely successful Future Legends Scholarship, which provides scholarships to New Zealand's rising stars aged 15-18.

Following the conclusion of the 2022 intake, the scholarship programme supported 12 individuals or groups in the fields of sport, leadership and entrepreneurship, music and the arts.

“The MTF Finance Future Legends Scholarship Programme has been a huge success, and we've been honoured to have supported a remarkable group of individuals who have shown exceptional talent, dedication, and potential in their chosen field,” adds Lamers.

The communities we’ve served for over 50 years are incredibly important to us. We have exciting plans for our future community support programme.
