What is a personal loan?
A personal loan is finance for just about anything you like. The basics work in the same way a vehicle loan works – we loan you money to take care of whatever you need to take care of, then we figure out a repayment plan that works for you. These repayments are made up of both principal (the amount you borrowed) and interest (the cost of borrowing money) and are paid back over 12 months, 24 months or whatever suits your situation.
Where it differs from a vehicle loan is that generally, a vehicle loan is secured against the vehicle or another asset. A personal loan on the other hand can be unsecured, which means the interest rate is usually a little higher, but you don’t need to front up with an asset for collateral.
