While Covid curbed their plans to tour extensively the band haven’t let that slow them down, recently appearing on TV show The Project and landing a significant gig for the Punk It Up punk festival at the PowerStation in Auckland.

The release of the EP has opened doors and provided opportunities that enables Newman and his band to build their profile and become more established in the New Zealand music scene.

“The scholarship allowed me to contribute to the recording of our recent EP and it helped me to pay for keyboard and bass guitar lessons, to keep me musically sharp.”

Brand practice commitments notwithstanding, Cory is also focusing on his studies, attending EIT in Gisborne, studying Business and Accounting.

Cory has this message for future scholarship applicants; “Life is there to be lived, so never be afraid to jump on any opportunities that may come your way, this amazing scholarship journey included. Oh, and always rock on!”
