About the role:
This role focuses on cloud infrastructure, security, and the automation of cloud environments through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support software engineering teams. The Cloud DevOps Engineer will ensure the security, availability, and efficient configuration of our cloud infrastructure while enabling automated workflows for cloud resource management. You will also partner with development teams to resolve infrastructure challenges, ensuring reliable and scalable cloud environments.
Just some of the things you’re responsible for:
- Cloud Infrastructure Security: Develop and enforce security policies and best practices to safeguard cloud systems and ensure their integrity.
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Monitor cloud resources and logs to detect vulnerabilities, address misconfigurations, and maintain optimal system performance.
- Risk Mitigation: Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address risks within the cloud environment.
- Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Partner with engineering teams to address infrastructure challenges, ensuring secure, high-performing, and reliable cloud platforms.
- Continuous Improvement: Research evolving cloud technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions and enhancements.
- Automation & Best Practices: Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, while mentoring teams on cloud infrastructure best practices.
You’ll need to have:
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and cloud networking/infrastructure, with a strong understanding of VPCs, subnets, firewalls, routing, DNS, and VPNs.
- Expertise in cloud security principles, encryption protocols, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation, with hands-on experience using cloud security and compliance tools.
- Proficiency with Terraform and IaC concepts, along with familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and CloudFormation, to build scalable, maintainable cloud environments.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes and experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated cloud infrastructure management.
- A strong team player skilled in working with cross-functional teams, providing guidance to junior staff, and promoting best practices for cloud infrastructure security.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
